The great thing is that, with this business, the answer to this question is entirely in your hands. It will depend on a number of things, like your work ethic, the time you devote to the business, the amount of marketing activity you undertake, the way in which you deploy the techniques we give you and, of course, your existing skills, experience and contacts.
What I can tell you is that your costs, for a completely personalised, wrapped, chocolate bar should be around 44p. (40p for the chocolate, 3p for the wrapper and 1p for other costs).
“I’ve been going for five weeks now and profits are good! I have had 12 orders so far and some of them have been really big! A catering company ordered 200 bars, and a corporate exhibition ordered 350. People love the bars...”

Your sale price is likely to be between around £1 and £1.50 per bar, meaning that your ‘gross profit’ should typically be somewhere between 60p and £1.10 per bar.
So, how many bars are you going to sell? Well, like I said, that’s pretty much up to you – and it will depend on many factors. But let me give you an example business plan by way of illustration: (Please remember that these figures are for illustration only. They are not a guarantee of sales volume or earnings.)
Corporate and Fundraising can really get your business motoring, but you might decide neither is something you want to pursue. It’s up to you.
You can see from this example how you could be producing an average of 1,000+ bars per month – on a very part-time basis. You could aim to do more than this – or a lot less. It’s entirely up to you.

“ “Just had to let you know that I had orders for 220 bars in my first week – and then 100 in my second week, for a Barmitzvah. All I’ve done is told all my friends and family and given out some sample bars and the orders have started to come in. Then I got a call from a company who want 2,000 bars. I haven’t even used the marketing material or advertised yet. I’m soooooooo excited.”
